Artist's Statement:

The sensation of being boxed in—by circumstance, expectation, or daily burdens—can be quietly suffocating.

This sculpture captures a moment of pause, a breath taken amidst the pressure. The woman’s serene expression contrasts with the weight she carries, both literal and symbolic. The stones on her shoulders hint at invisible burdens, while her upward gaze and the texture of her wrapped head suggest resilience, introspection, and the quiet act of reclaiming space within constraint. In a world that demands constant endurance, sometimes stillness becomes its own form of resistance.
