Artist's Statement: 

This figure emerges from the earth itself, pressed forward, arms cast wide in an act of total release. The posture is both collapse and offering — a body that has stopped fighting the weight of the inevitable and chosen, instead, to open. To let go. There is no struggle left in these outstretched arms. Only honesty.

The work is deliberately vast — 34 inches wide, the wingspan nearly confrontational in its reach, demanding space, demanding acknowledgment.

The surface is intentionally raw and crispy — fractured, textured, alive with the memory of fire. The roughness is not a flaw. It is the truth. Smooth surfaces lie. They suggest control, finish, mastery. This work refuses that comfort. The cracked, layered skin mirrors what it feels like to be worn down to something essential — something real.
