Artist's Statement: 

She rests in upward repose, eyes closed, face tilted toward something beyond the ceiling, beyond the sky itself. Framed by a bold geometric collar of carved triangles and dressed in earthy terracotta tones with touches of pale white and deep indigo, she carries the quiet authority of someone who has always known where to look. Mounted on a raw wood platform anchored by metal bolts, this piece wears its materials honestly — clay, wood, and metal working together the way earth, tree, and ore have always coexisted. The zigzag patterning speaks across centuries, echoing the marks ancient peoples made when trying to map what they saw above them. She is one of the watchers. She always has been.
