The Last Warm Wind
The Last Warm Wind
Artist's Statement:
The Last Warm Wind is about the beauty that lives inside endings, and the instinct to stay present inside a moment you already know is leaving. She reaches forward — toward something departing… the final glimpses of summer. Its Autumn now, and the sweeping burnt-orange form beneath her is both body and landscape — she doesn’t stand apart from the season; she is the season. The carved swirls etched into her base are the wind itself, moving through grass and fallen leaves, unhurried but inevitable. The dark arc cutting across her middle is the coming shadow, the tide of cool air that will soon replace what she holds now.

Owning a free-standing sculpture also means living with a breakable investment — fired clay is durable but unforgiving in a fall. Secure the piece to a steady surface, keep it out of high-traffic toddler or pet zones, and document it in your home insurance the way you would any irreplaceable item.
