Artist's Statement:

This is a sculpture of a woman sitting on the edge of a lake. She is not looking at you. In a world engineered to demand and capture attention — where every surface competes, where every face is angled toward a lens — she has turned away. She is looking away. Distant viewing is not escapism. It is one of the oldest, most necessary human acts — the capacity to lift the gaze beyond the immediate, to resist the tyranny of the urgent, to let the mind travel to where the eye cannot follow. Prophets did it. Poets do it. Exhausted mothers, grieving friends, people on the edge of decisions that will change everything — they all know this posture.

She is looking at something true. She is not looking at you.
